Kristen Woodward Saints Among Us Traveling Exhibition
The Saints Among Us exhibition was funded in part by the J.W. Criss Fund and Mississippi State University. Participating artists were Anna Chupa, Anne Hanger and Kristen Woodward.

Kristen Woodward began researching Biblical women in the hopes of better understanding the relationship between gender and the Judeo-Christian religion. Working in collaboration led her to discover Latin American milagro. A milagro, which means miracle in Spanish, is a votive offering for an answered prayer. Instead of creating didactic or literal illustrations of this folk art, Woodward created small abstract works in the tradition of milagro offerings. They are fetish like in their small scale, layering, and attention to detail.
