The Saints Among Us exhibition was funded in part by the J.W. Criss Fund and Mississippi State University.

Anne Hanger uses the creative process, combined with reading and prayer, as an opportunity for reflection and spiritual growth. For this particular project she resolved to read about a different Catholic saint each day before she began work. She hoped that the stories of their lives would guide her professional practice. In her work she does not attempt to illustrate religious stories. The work itself is somewhat abstract in character: cross, heart and robe configurations.
