Anna Chupa's photographic documentation of religious shrines provides the raw matieral for digital collages. Her work in this exhibition is inspired by devotional sites in Holy Land USA (Waterbury CT) and the Ave Maria Grotto (Cullman, AL) as well as the more temporary altars created in celebration of St. Joseph's feast day in New Orleans. Other conceptual influences derive from Celtic illuminated manuscripts and African-Atlantic altars.
